In 1964 the first Jock Smith Memorial Golf Day was held at Cumberland Golf Club. Jock was the District Poultry Livestock Officer Sydney Cumberland area. Jock regularly played golf with Les Wright, the Donnelly Brothers and others at the Cumberland Golf Club every Friday afternoon. They were all good mates. Jock passed away at an early age from cancer. The golf day has continued to this day, and is now called the Annual NSW Poultry Industry Golf Day. Or as many of us in the industry have come to know it as simply ‘the golf day’.
This year the golf day will be held on 19 October 2022 at the Camden Lakeside Country Club. Please see attached flyer for more information. All proceeds will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
