NEW BOOK: WEBSTERS – where there’s a will there’s a way
“WEBSTERS – Where there’s a will there’s a way” is the new book on the Webster Vaccine Company.
It provides a history of the technological and commercial development of a family owned Australian company. It draws on family and company documents along with recorded interviews with now deceased staff members for details of the early years, and the recollections of surviving staff and of others associated with the company for the period from 1970 to its sale in 1993.
This book describes the difficulties faced by an initially small company in surviving for over 65 years in a highly competitive commercial environment within an ever changing regulatory system. The founder’s dream and persistence ultimately resulted in a respected and innovative company that developed and manufactured a remarkably wide range of veterinary vaccines for distribution around the globe.
The book has a whole Part dedicated to the poultry industry “Websters and the Poultry Industry – a special relationship”. There are 9 stories in total in this Part with contributors to stories being Clive Jackson (3), Errol best (1) Ron Roberts (1) and Arthur Webster (3). Clive has penned one story titled Websters and the AVPA.
